Small Mercy for Android — v1.0

Dr Tyson K··1 min read

Small Mercy for Android first became available on Google Play on 11 August 2026. Google’s release note described it as the initial Android release.

This is the launch announcement for version 1.0. Android has changed since then; the release notes describe the later published updates, and the product page describes Small Mercy today.

The clinician reviews and confirms

Small Mercy is a documentation aid. It captures what was said and drafts content for the clinician to review. Every generated note, letter, meeting minute or task remains a draft until an explicit confirmation.

Two kinds of uncertainty ask for different review actions: uncertainty about what was heard sends you to listen back; uncertainty about how the source was structured or attributed sends you to re-read it. Required content absent from the source is marked [not stated].

Speaker identity needs review; the app does not establish who someone is from a colour or an anonymous speaker label.

MBS billing-item hints for Australian organisations are read-only suggestions from the consultation; they are switched off everywhere else. Small Mercy never saves, exports or submits a billing item for you.

Australian and New Zealand organisations in Small Mercy’s AU cell can connect an Australian-hosted Cliniko account or use Nookal through its Australian API service. An optional confirmed-note or letter send reaches the connected practice-software account; Nookal’s Australian API host does not establish that account’s storage region.

Small Mercy is a documentation aid, not a diagnostic device.
